Agency Collaborations
Create an expectation for law enforcement agencies to work together to ensure gaps in the system are reduced, encouraging continued and timely tracking of inmates to increase probability of positive learned behavior.
Regionalization
Utilize the Sheriff’s Office to supplement law enforcement presence in our towns. Explore combining resources to lower expenses by merging overhead costs like administration, facilities and equipment. Centralize leadership to ensure consistency in expectations and services offered. Cutting down on duplication/redundancies and reducing the overall financial burden on individual towns.
Clean Up
Proactively use the Sheriff’s Office to clean up Franklin County. Utilize resources to implement a strategic cleanup plan, provide and empty receptacles to reduce litter and aggressively enforce littering and illegal dumping.
Community Outreach
Enhance and expand existing services offered by the Sheriff’s Office. Conduct cost analysis studies for services provided and identify how these services can be increased without increased costs to taxpayers. For example, explore how inmates can volunteer to help with the care and rehabilitation of animals at the Animal Shelter. This would both benefit the shelter and the inmates.
